Salvador T. Porras


I am Professor in Management at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana-Iztapalapa at the Department of Economics.

During March - April 2010 I was at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and at the University of Western Sydney Macarthur (UWS). I was invited professor at CREPA, Universite Paris Dauphine May - July 2010. I have taught at University of Western Sydney Macarthur (1994-1998) and at University of Technology, Sydney (1997-1998) where I participate in Innovation, Collaboration, Alliances and Networks (ICAN).

I got the PhD in Management at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), under Profesor Stewart Clegg supervision. My research work Business Networks an Effective Way of Organising?, included the study of business networks in Australia. At UTS I was also a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in ORCA.

I have participated in diferent international congresses in Ireland, France, Argentina, United States, Mexico, New Zealand, China and Australia. I am a member of the Asia-Pacific Researchers in Organisation Studies (APROS) and Chair of the Organising Committee for the X APROS International Colloquium that took place in Oaxaca, Mexico December 7-10, 2003. I participate also at the Academy of Management, at IFSAM, at The European Group in Organisation Studies (EGOS) and Academia de Ciencias Administrativas (ACACIA).

My research work studies the processes of organisational collaboration, in particular networks formation from a comparative international level.
